The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will kick off the 30th Anniversary Tour of the longest running dirt series in the country with the 17th Annual Shamrock 50 at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN., paying $10,000 to win for the 50 lap event Saturday night April 7th.

This Friday night at Ray Cook Promoted Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC there will be a $2,000 to win SLM race plus racing in all other classes. There are lots of big races in the area this weekend and lots of potential money with Sugar Creek racing for $3,000 and Cleveland for $10,000 on Saturday maybe someone will sneak over and try to take the $2,000 prize money home with them.

Boyd’s Speedway Ultimate Super Late Model Event Falls to Heavy Rains
After 2 heavy rain storms fell between in the late afternoon officials of the Boyd’s Speedway and ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series have been forced to postpone the event scheduled for tonight. “The racetrack was just too wet. We were going to have to let it just sit for 2 or 3 hours before we could even get on it to try to run it in and it looks like there is another big band of rain expected between 7 and 9. It’s just too much. I really hate it because we were going to have a great field of cars. This is our 4th week in a row of rainouts. We will get with Kelley and work on a good reschedule date and try to do it all again.” said Boyd’s Speedway promoter Gar Dickson.
Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heads to Jackson (MS) and Kilgore (TX) this Weekend
The nation’s premier dirt late model sanctioning body, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to Mississippi and Texas this upcoming weekend. Joining the stars and cars of the LOLMDS will be the top regional and local racers in the South.
On Friday Night, March 30th, the LOLMDS will make its first ever appearance at the Don Cliburn-promoted Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, MS for the “Southern 50”. This event is one of the biggest in several years at Jackson Motor Speedway and will mark the 60th different track that the series has visited.

UFo Late Models Headline Saturday at Mercer Raceway Park
Excitement is building for Saturday’s Chiller Thriller at Mercer Raceway Park. Many of the top regional stars in the Super Late Model class will make their lone appearance of the 2012 racing season in the opener for the UFo Race Championship. They will go for thirty laps and the winner will receive $3,000 at the pay window, but the bragging rights will be priceless! Joining them will be the UEMS Modifieds which will compete for a top prize of $1,000, one of the best paying events for the class all year long. The Precise Racing Products Stock Carswill compete under the Mercer Open Stock rules, and the winner will get a jump start on the 2012 season by banking $1,000. The Mini Stoicks will rouind out the racing action.
